Involving others in the process of making art can be a tricky business and yet increasingly artists are engaging with audiences in new and exciting ways. Located within creative practice that explores participation, interactivity and the social, projects of this nature are stimulating fresh discussion around issues of labour and authorship in art. What’s driving this shift towards a more social agenda and in what way is it shaping contemporary creative practice? Drawing together artists, Carlin McLellan, Gabriela Green and Naomi Hamer, this discussion will explore the different ways these artists are embracing their audiences as not just the viewers, but the makers as well.a
