Last Fridays presents after-hours access to Newcastle Art Gallery exhibitions, a drink at their pop up bar and a diverse program, changing monthly. This month, This is Not Art (TiNA) is taking over the Gallery.
TiNA Co-Presenters Critical Animals and Crack X will pop up in the Gallery presenting installation art by Naomi Hamer, a poetry performance called Love in SPACE, and a DIY theatre meets talk show – join our studio audience for the filming of the debut episode of The Late Act with Mason Manhattan. Pick up a daily print-on-demand TiNA newspaper from the NewsXpress mobile newsagent.
Special Guests WE DON’T DANCE have opened the floor at Newcastle Art Gallery for BANSHEE to throw some glitter into TiNA in the form of some very special local musical performances. James Hodgett (of Holiday Basement ) will croon some sweet songs and make you blush, and Flight Hawk will knock your socks off with their impressive, shiny tunes and theatrics.
Laman Street will be buzzing with more TINA events next door at the Library, presented by the National Young Writers’ Festival.
Last Fridays is supported by Create NSW’s Audience Development Fund, a devolved funding program administered by Museums & Galleries of NSW on behalf of the NSW Government.
This is Not Art is supported by the City of Newcastle.
