In this solo performance, Alice negotiates skill, desire and failure across a choreographic arc through the old exercise yard at The Lock-Up. Alice activates stillness, slowness, balance and extreme flexibility, making visible how the body is produced and managed. Placing the history of the site in dialogue with dance training, fitness culture and other normative embodiments, Alice experiments with these practices as technologies of producing culturally- and historically- determined subjects, objects and bodies.
