Alice Weber is an artist working with choreography, performance and discursive outputs. From a background in classical ballet, she engages in body-based epistemologies and surrounding critical discourses. Her performances appropriate her classical training to destabilise the rules and reproductions of the body, for gallery, film and unconventional spaces, making visible how the body is produced and managed, particularly regarding femininity, desire and the (dis)embodiments of late-capitalism. Her performances activate stillness, slowness, balance, extreme flexibility and control, as well as the failure of these. This performance is site-sensitive to The Lock-Up.
